The Minnesota Vikings released their final injury report ahead of their Thanksgiving game against the New England Patriots, and it appears their cornerback situation is as dire as we feared. There are two Vikings CBs out for Week 12: Andrew Booth Jr. and Akayleb Evans. Here’s the full list of Vikings injuries from Wednesday’s report:
- CB Andrew Booth Jr.- Out
- LT Christian Darrisaw- Out
- CB Akayleb Evans- Out
- DE Dalvin Tomlinson- Questionable
Darrisaw has been confirmed as out since Sunday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys, so there was no surprise there. During that Week 11 loss, he suffered his second concussion in as many weeks, and head coach Kevin O’Connell said they were going to play it safe with the star offensive lineman.
Coming into Week 12, Darrisaw had the highest PFF grade among all offensive lineman in 2022, so this is obviously a very big loss for Minnesota. While the Vikings have a few options at left tackle, there’s no real replacing that type of production.
Things only get tougher with both Andrew Booth Jr. and Akayleb Evans out at cornerback as well. This leaves Duke Shelley likely in line to start with Kris Boyd and Tay Gowan as the remaining depth for Minnesota.
However, to close things on a positive note, it appears there is at least a chance that DE Dalvin Tomlinson is available to play. The veteran defensive lineman is listed as questionable after missing the past two games. He could be a massive help to the Vikings defensive front as they attempt to put pressure on Mac Jones.
Kickoff between the New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings is scheduled for Thanksgiving Night at 7:20 PM CST.
