On the Wednesday Vikings injury report, there’s some good and bad news. First off, the good news is that the only player that missed practice entirely was CB Cam Dantzler, missing his second straight day with an illness.
Additionally, Harrison Smith practiced in full on Wednesday with his neck injury. He missed Week 14’s game against the Lions with the injury, and he was severely missed as Minnesota gave up two separate touchdown passes that went for over 40 yards. One went to Jameson Williams for 41 yards, and another went to D.J. Chark for 48 yards.
The bad news, though, is that this injury report is longer than Tuesdays was, and Danielle Hunter pops up on Wednesday’s report with a neck injury. Here’s the full list of Vikings injuries for Wednesday:
- C Garrett Bradbury- Limited (back)
- CB Cam Dantzler- DNP (illness)
- LB Jordan Hicks- Limited (ankle)
- DT James Lynch- Limited (shoulder)
- DT Harrison Phillips- Limited (back)
- S Harrison Smith- Full (neck)
- OLB Danielle Hunter- Limited (neck)
- WR Adam Thielen- Limited (rest)
You’ll also notice that Adam Thielen pops up on this list, but it appears to be preventative more than due to an injury. He has gone through separate injuries that have landed him on this report throughout the season, so the rest day makes sense for the veteran Vikings receiver.
After not practicing on Tuesday, both Jordan Hicks and Harrison Phillips returned on Wednesday in a limited fashion. This should cause some hope that they’ll be available to the Vikings on Saturday against Indy.
On the other side, the Indianapolis Colts injury report remains rather small. However, WR Mike Strachan did not practice on Wednesday with a concussion. He has been targeted only 8 times this season, though, so the loss should not be felt too badly on the Colts offense this weekend. Here’s their full list of injuries:
- CB Brandon Facyson- DNP (illness)
- CB Kenny Moore II- DNP (ankle)
- T Braden Smith- Full (illness)
- WR Mike Strachan- DNP (concussion)
The Colts missing two of their better cornerbacks, Facyson and Moore, should be a situation that Vikings fans are rather familiar with as well. Moore has started 12 games for the Colts this season, and Facyson has appeared in all 13 games with a pair of starts.
Each of the Colts and Vikings will release one more injury report on Thursday afternoon. Then, the two teams will square off at U.S. Bank Stadium at 12 PM CST on Saturday, December 17th.
